A meditation on forests, ecosystems, and our kinship with the living world
The Grove is a celebration of World Environment Day, established by the United Nations in 1972 and celebrated on June 5th each year.

We lose approximately 10 million hectares of forest each year - roughly one football field every second. The main drivers are:
Forest restoration could remove up to 10 billion tonnes of CO2 annually. The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) aims to restore 350 million hectares of degraded landscapes.
Countries are making commitments: the Bonn Challenge, the New York Declaration on Forests, the Glasgow Leaders' Declaration. Indigenous peoples, who protect 80% of the world's remaining biodiversity, are increasingly recognized as essential partners.
Every tree planted is a vote for the future. Every forest protected is a gift to generations yet unborn.
