║ 101 Courses That Don't Exist ║
╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
A Course Catalog for the Curious Mind
The Primer is a generative course catalog for classes that don't exist— introductory courses to fields that live in the spaces between established disciplines, in the margins of what's usually taught.
Every syllabus is procedurally generated but deterministic: the same subject on the same day always produces the same syllabus, as if you're accessing a fixed catalog that updates daily.
In academic course numbering, "101" traditionally indicates an introductory course—the basics, the fundamentals, the place where beginners are welcome.
The number 101 itself has interesting properties:
Imagine a university where the things we casually notice—the quality of light at different times of day, the sounds of different silences, the architecture of shadows—are treated as legitimate subjects of study.
What if there were prerequisites for patience? Field work in noticing? Final projects in attention?
The Primer plays with the idea that anything, approached with enough care and curiosity, becomes worthy of study. And that sometimes the most important things to learn are the ones no one thinks to teach.
