📡 The Signal

The Signal is a generator for imaginary deep space transmissions — mysterious radio signals from across the cosmos that hint at intelligence beyond Earth.

Each seed word tunes to a different frequency, revealing transmissions with unique characteristics:

• 20 possible source types from pulsars to dimensional rifts
• 20 constellations of origin
• 15 signal types and frequencies
• 15 pattern encodings from prime numbers to cellular automata
• 15 content hints about what might be inside
• 20 tentative interpretations of meaning

The same seed word on the same day always produces the same signal — but tomorrow, the cosmic static will have shifted, and new messages will emerge from the noise.

Alien Day

April 26 is Alien Day, chosen because 4/26 corresponds to LV-426 — the moon from the Alien film franchise where the Nostromo crew first encountered the xenomorph.

On Alien Day, the signals are stronger.

Are We Alone?

The question has haunted humanity since we first looked up at the stars. Radio SETI has been listening for over 60 years without a confirmed detection — but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Perhaps they're transmitting in ways we don't recognize. Perhaps they fell silent long ago. Perhaps they're patient. Perhaps they're listening too.
