A pubnix (public unix) is a shared server where anyone can get a free account, a home directory, and space to build their own corner of the web.
It's like living in a friendly apartment building where everyone has their own place, but you can knock on your neighbor's door (visit their ~page) anytime. Some pubnixes are part of the tildeverse, a loose federation of these communities.
splendid.horse is a cozy private pubnix - by invitation from joe. We're not part of the official tildeverse, but we share the same spirit: learning, sharing, and keeping the weird web alive.
