Description

An evergreen with persistent leaves that last multiple seasons. Broad, paddle-shaped leaves with prominent parallel veins.

Blooms change color as they age, from white through pink to purple, colored moss green. Blooms when certain birds sing.

Habitat

Native to nowhere, found everywhere - a cosmopolitan wanderer.

Traditional Uses

The bitter root served as a digestive tonic.

Folklore

Believed to mark the boundaries between the seen and unseen worlds.
