Description
An aquatic plant floating on still water with submerged root systems. Compound pinnate leaves with 7-13 leaflets arranged alternately.
Large, solitary blooms open at dusk and close before dawn, colored pearl white. Blooms after long silences.
Habitat
Found only near standing stones and ancient earthworks.
Traditional Uses
Tea brewed from young leaves was believed to improve memory.
Folklore
Children believed it could reveal hidden paths through forests.
