About The Hearth

The Hearth is a tribute to mothers and maternal figures everywhere—biological mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts, teachers, mentors, and all who nurture.

The hearth was the center of the ancient home. Fire for warmth, for cooking, for light. It was where stories were told, where children were fed, where the family gathered. To tend the hearth was to tend the home itself.

A Note on This Day

Mother's Day is not universally joyful. For some it brings grief, for others complicated feelings about difficult relationships, for others the pain of infertility or pregnancy loss, for others the absence of a mother they never knew.

If today is hard for you, be gentle with yourself. This hearth is warm for you too.
