Description
An aquatic plant floating on still water with submerged root systems. Needle-like foliage arranged in spirals along the stem.
Flowers are small, star-shaped, blooming in umbels of 12-20, colored deep violet. Blooms after long silences.
Habitat
Colonizes disturbed ground, often the first to return after fire.
Traditional Uses
Tea brewed from young leaves was believed to improve memory.
Folklore
Believed to mark the boundaries between the seen and unseen worlds.

May be confused with Mistgrief.

Rare and protected - do not collect without permission.
