Description

An ephemeral annual appearing only during specific astronomical events. Leaves are translucent and veined with gold, visible when backlit.

Flowers are small, star-shaped, blooming in umbels of 12-20, colored dusty rose. Blooms after the first frost.

Habitat

Prefers boggy meadows and the margins of still water.

Traditional Uses

Dried flowers were burned as incense during ceremonies.

Folklore

Believed to mark the boundaries between the seen and unseen worlds.

Similar Species

Distinguished from Summercrown.

Conservation

Possibly extinct in the wild - surviving only in botanical gardens.
