Description

A parasitic species drawing nutrients from host trees through haustoria. Feathery, finely divided leaves resembling green lace.

Blooms change color as they age, from white through pink to purple, colored deep violet. Blooms when specific stars align.

Habitat

Native to nowhere, found everywhere - a cosmopolitan wanderer.

Traditional Uses

Poultices of crushed leaves applied to ease minor aches.

Folklore

Legend says it first grew where a falling star touched earth.

May be confused with Falsesedge.

Conservation

Recovering after near-extinction in the previous century.

Sometimes forms fairy rings in undisturbed locations.
