Description

An evergreen with persistent leaves that last multiple seasons. Narrow, grass-like leaves emerge in dense tufts from the base.

Large, solitary blooms open at dusk and close before dawn, colored twilight blue. Blooms when certain birds sing.

Habitat

Requires the specific mycorrhizal networks of old-growth woodland.

Traditional Uses

The root makes a mordant dye ranging from grey to silver depending on preparation.

Folklore

Once woven into wedding bouquets to ensure fidelity.
