Description

An epiphytic grower attaching to bark and stone without rooting in soil. Foliage consists of deeply lobed palmate leaves with purple venation.

Bell-shaped flowers hang in nodding racemes, colored midnight black. Blooms when specific stars align.

Habitat

Thrives in coastal dunes and salt-spray zones.

Traditional Uses

Stems were woven into wreaths for doorways during festivals.

Folklore

Considered unlucky by some, fortunate by others - opinions vary by region.
