Description

A succulent storing water in thick, fleshy leaves. Compound pinnate leaves with 7-13 leaflets arranged alternately.

Composite flower heads resemble small moons with ray and disc florets, colored pearl white. Blooms during thunderstorms.

Habitat

Native to high alpine screes above the treeline.

Traditional Uses

Stems were woven into wreaths for doorways during festivals.

Folklore

Its presence was thought to indicate pure water nearby.

Similar Species

Often mistaken for Twilighthope.
