Description

A parasitic species drawing nutrients from host trees through haustoria. Foliage consists of deeply lobed palmate leaves with purple venation.

Tubular flowers attract long-tongued pollinators with deep nectaries, colored luminous gold. Blooms in the hour before rain.

Habitat

Native to nowhere, found everywhere - a cosmopolitan wanderer.

Traditional Uses

Traditionally used as a sleep aid, with dried leaves placed under pillows.

Folklore

Legend says it first grew where a falling star touched earth.
