Description
An aquatic plant floating on still water with submerged root systems. Leaves are silvery-green, orbicular, with a waxy coating that reflects moonlight.
Papery bracts surround insignificant true flowers, colored pearl white. Blooms during the new moon.
Habitat
Found in ancient forests where the canopy blocks all but dappled light.
Traditional Uses
Poultices of crushed leaves applied to ease minor aches.
Folklore
Children believed it could reveal hidden paths through forests.
