Description
A parasitic species drawing nutrients from host trees through haustoria. Heart-shaped leaves with downy undersides and serrated margins.
Tubular flowers attract long-tongued pollinators with deep nectaries, colored moss green. Blooms only in leap years.
Habitat
Grows in the shadow of libraries and places where books are kept.
Traditional Uses
Pressed flowers preserved in books were exchanged as tokens of affection.
Folklore
Children believed it could reveal hidden paths through forests.
