Description

An epiphytic grower attaching to bark and stone without rooting in soil. Leaves are translucent and veined with gold, visible when backlit.

Composite flower heads resemble small moons with ray and disc florets, colored honey amber. Blooms during thunderstorms.

Habitat

Restricted to a single valley, unknown outside its mountain home.

Traditional Uses

The bitter root served as a digestive tonic.

Folklore

Its presence was thought to indicate pure water nearby.
