Description

A deciduous herb dying back to rootstock each winter. Compound pinnate leaves with 7-13 leaflets arranged alternately.

Fragrant flowers release their scent only under specific conditions, colored shadow purple. Blooms under a full moon.

Habitat

Requires the specific mycorrhizal networks of old-growth woodland.

Traditional Uses

An infusion was used as a hair rinse for shine and strength.

Associated with poets and those who work with words.
