Description

An epiphytic grower attaching to bark and stone without rooting in soil. Needle-like foliage arranged in spirals along the stem.

Tubular flowers attract long-tongued pollinators with deep nectaries, colored storm grey. Blooms at dawn on equinoxes.

Habitat

Grows exclusively in the cracks of old stone walls and ruins.

Traditional Uses

Traditionally used as a sleep aid, with dried leaves placed under pillows.

Folklore

Folk wisdom holds that it should never be brought indoors.

Similar Species

May be confused with Goldendew.
