Description

A parasitic species drawing nutrients from host trees through haustoria. Broad, paddle-shaped leaves with prominent parallel veins.

Flowers have six tepals and emit a faint bioluminescent glow, colored pearl white. Blooms after the first frost.

Habitat

Prefers boggy meadows and the margins of still water.

Traditional Uses

Pressed flowers preserved in books were exchanged as tokens of affection.

Folklore

Said to be beloved by bees from hives that produce the clearest honey.

Similar Species

May be confused with Ironflower.

Conservation

Vulnerable due to habitat loss.
